Evas of the Archipelago

Ahoy, Korppoo! It was our turn to invite archipelago women for a long weekend. And they came! Cheerful and happy, full of energy and stories since the last autumn in Estonia and we had so much fun!
Our themes were the Baltic Sea and women entrepreneurs, so here we are in front of the only shopping centre of our archipelago - run by the women of course!
It all started 29 years ago and since then women had toured from island to island every autumn - to Stockholm archipelago, Aland, Estonia, Kemiö, Turku archipelago...
It is about sharing and giving strength, new ideas how to be able to live in the archipelago in the modern times. And dance, chat, hug, laugh and cry together...
Women want to live in the archipelago...
First day we had all kind of workshops from flamenco to wool and animation to visiting local farms.

Olle lives in Nystu farm where many locals love to buy the meat they need.

Annika let us taste her lovely apples.
Monika showed us her beautiful garden sale by the sea.
In the evening we had dinner in archipelago centre Sunnan in Korpoström, listen to Husband and Son, my prides. We were worried if the storm passes by before the next morning.
Olga had already arrived by the pier.

On Saturday morning it was a wonderful sailing weather and with two boats we sailed to Berghamn, an island near Korppoo to learn about nature reservation and have salmon soup on board.

Skorvlot, pilot cottage of our village
I was on board Inga-Lill that was followed by Olga with the red sails.
Side by side in Berghamn

About three families still live in Berghamn year around and many others time to time.
Our sailor!
Women can!
On our way to forest work!

Archipelago apples, always and a lot!
Saturday night..

Fish, of course!
Last day before farewell and see you in Svartsö, Sweden, we had a memorial concert in Korppoo church for Estonia, a ferry that sank 20 years ago near our southern-most island.

It is something amazing with these women, I am so touched by the atmosphere every year. Tears and smile are both just a second away.

Already booked the weekend in my calender...
